Vivian Kaye- @itsviviankaye

Vivian Kaye is the owner of KinkyCurly Yaki, a company that sells premium hair extensions and wigs for Black women. She is a business empowerment coach and a Shopify expert. Vivian has grown her business KinkyCurly Yaki to $6 million in revenue.

“Make sure you’re solving a problem because the last thing you need are more E-commerce businesses selling things that nobody needs.”

She was the guest of Honest E-commerce on March 8, 2021. Vivian made an excellent point that companies need to look at a problem in the market and offer a solution. Finding a gap in your niche will also determine the marketing approach you need to tap into that market.

Vivian also advised entrepreneurs to take action after discovering a solution to a problem in your niche. Just start offering your services. Show how your products can help your customers.

We totally agree with her. Consumers with an issue will always be looking for solutions. They will go to your competitors if you’re not in the position to solve it. What you can do is to meet their needs by providing the right products or services.

On the other hand, it will be difficult to sell a product with no real need. Your customers will not believe that your product is a necessity. The lack of market demand will hinder the growth of your business.

Tracey Wallace — MarketerHire l @TraceWall

If you want to know how to create a legacy, then there is nobody better than Tracy Wallace. Tracy is the director of marketing at MarketerHire and the owner of @DorisSleep.

“I wanted to educate other people on how to build something that wasn’t just a one-hit wonder. Something that will actually build a legacy for them.”

In a podcast with Honest Ecommerce, Tracy spoke about the importance of building a brand that values honesty. She noted that there are a lot of resources for small business owners that are gimmicky. They are not very honest about how hard it is to build a business.

You have to face challenges when starting a business. According to Tracy, there are peaks and valleys in building a business. There will be times when you will want to give up, but, in the end, you will find fulfillment.

Even today, we see a lot of content circulating on the internet that is giving false marketing advice to ecommerce business owners. Some promise unrealistic results that will cost business owners money and disappointment.

Tracy talks about helping people build a business that will leave them a legacy. In her own words, she stated: “I wanted to educate other people on how to build something that wasn’t just a one-hit wonder. Something that will actually build a legacy for them.”

She carried out this advocacy by curating useful information from other business owners during her interviews. She then shares this information through her blogs and books.

Linda Bustos- www.edgacent.com l @lindabustos

Linda is the founder of www.edgacent.com an e-commerce strategy consulting that helps businesses with search engine optimization, social media marketing and analytics and reporting.

“Understand how to make your e-commerce more human in times of crisis.”

During her interview with Omniconvert in June of 2020, Linda shared a number of creative ideas on how to be successful in business. These were the key points she made.

Understand how your business will operate in times of crisis.

According to Linda, many factors could have an impact on a company. Social issues and even weather conditions may affect your customers’ behaviors. A business owner must foresee these things and be in a position to deal with them.

Make a great human connection.

Linda also emphasized that a business is more than a business. It’s an entity. It’s an opportunity to connect with other people. She also advised to establish social media accounts where people can connect with you. It is critical for a company to have a communication channel where customers can contact them.

The significance of business forecasts.

She also pointed out that companies should recognize potential changes in your customers’ behavior. That way, you can plan your inventory ahead of time.

Do you sell luxury goods? Check to see if your current projections suggest there may be a sudden drop in demand for your products. According to her, if there is a predicted change, a business owner could offer a rebate or perhaps a business bundle to get more conversion.

Amy Porterfield- @AmyPorterfield

Amy Porterfield is an expert online marketing trainer. She helps entrepreneurs build an engaged email list, create online courses, and webinars. Amy currently has 250,000+ loyal subscribers.

Create content that adds value to your audience.

Amy’s work is centered around creating content in a way that adds value to the target audience. Doing so will attract your own followers and will eventually draw customers.

In her interview with EntreLeadership she gave a great tip about converting potential clients into actual buyers. She says customers need relevant information on your products or services before they can become customers.

As a business owner, you would like to publish content that would bridge this gap between you and your clients. Therefore, it is very important to have content published around your business. She pointed out that even adding a frequently asked questions section (FAQ) about your product is very helpful in letting prospective customers know how you can help them solve their issues.

Do this to build trust with potential customers and they will consider you as a source of information for that specific product.

Kelly Vaughn- l TheTopRoomAgency l @kvlly

Kelly is the founder of thetaproomagency, a company that offers e-commerce solutions to Shopify store owners. They design Shopify websites, helps create branding and offer marketing solutions to store owners.

Why Upsell and Cross-Sell Products and Services?

Why is cross-selling and upselling important for business owners? Upselling is a process by which a company convinces customers to buy an improved version of a product or service. This usually brings additional value to the customer.

Cross-selling, on the other hand, involves offering a different product or service to a customer in order to enhance the value of the sale.

Kelly shared how up-selling and cross-selling will help your business grow during her interview with Honest Ecommerce. She said customers must be aware of your complementary products and services otherwise, they may purchase them from another business.

Kelly raised another important point during the interview, and we are sure that you will all agree with it. She said it costs more to acquire new customers than it does to upsell to existing customers. Upselling is your opportunity to earn additional revenue with less effort in marketing.
